The World´s Best Place by me

If I’m being realistic, I want to visit different countries, because I wish to see different cultures and be able to see various types of landscapes from those I can see in my own country. But if I had to choose between all, I'd choose Spain. The reason why I'd choose this country is because it has many cultures (thinking that this country has a massive quantity of immigrants that arrive at their frontier from different parts of the world, although the most of them are usually of Arabic origin). Another reason why I want to go to Spain is that it is a country in which I can speak Spanish, since it is its native language. That is very good for me, because it is very difficult for me to learn other languages.

In addition, Spain is the country in which I would be interested to study my other passion, that is art history, since this country has a big history about this culture ambit and I believe that this is a factor that may give me better tools to develop as a professional in this area in the future (thinking that, in this country many artists were born, such as Picasso, Dalí, Velázquez, Miró, Gris, between others). Moreover, this is a country that has a frontier with France and I will be able to go visit it more easily, because there exists a train that connects these two countries (thinking that France is other of the places in which art is one of the most striking areas of the culture), without letting outside the fact that this same train may take me around all the European Continent or get me close to others countries that I want to visit in the future too, either to study or out of curiosity.

PD:I say that I would like to go to Spain because I want to know various cities of this beautiful country, although maybe the one that most catches my attention and is my priority is Barcelona.

Romeo + Julieta

I remember that the first time I saw Romeo + Juliet was 13 years old and I had already read Shakespeare's novel.  Personally I had not been fascinated by the book, but the screenplay of this film blew my mind.  In those years I did not know Baz Luhrmann, director of the film,   but the richness of the images and his baroque and grotesque style, made me fall in love with his work after seeing this film in which he maintained the essential romance of the characters but modified the character’s context, making the Capuletos and Montescos families a gang of thugs that confront through the territory of "Verona Beach" a city that would be the mix between Miami and a typical city in Mexico such as Monterrey or Mexico City.

I have always considered myself a person who focuses on the aesthetics of the movies, that's why I love classic films that maintain an essence that is very difficult to see in today's cinema, although I must admit that Romeo + Julieta is not at all  a classic film, although its script is, its aesthetic is totally contemporary.  A film so well thought on an aesthetic level that I personally think it’s made to never take your eyes off of it. Its neon lights, its Mexican colors and aesthetics and its intentionally chosen wardrobe are some of the highlights of this film, which  has great performances by Leonardo Dicaprio (Romeo), Claire Danes (Juliet), Harold Perrineau (Mercury) and John Leguizamo (Theobald).

                   

The scene I love most about this film is the party in which Romeo + Julieta is known, since the decision of the director to make it a hidden costume party is a sense of reflecting the essence of each character, positioning Julieta as a virginal angel, Romeo as a knight, Theobald as the devil and Mercury as a transvestite, subliminally inscribed on the scene the perception of the characters that the director had. Plus I find fascinating that all the verses that Romeo utters before and during the party are justified by the fact that Mercury gave him an LSD before going to sneak into the event of the Capulets.

A subject you enjoyed studying this term 🎓🔥

the topic that I was most interested in talking about was gender, since it is something that is currently relevant nationally and globally.  It is also a theme that is related not only directly to feminism, but also to issues that concern sex minorities like trans people.

It was also interesting to talk about technology and thing about the technological object closest to us, which made us question ourselves a bit in the era in which we were living and as our priorities are directly relate to these technological objects, I personally cannot live without my music

 And last but not least, the post about ourselves, how to make an autobiography or talk about a photo that meant a lot to us. These posts were also very interesting to do since they gave an insight to ourselves and often helped us to breathe through these rough times (the end of the semester)

Gender roles and stereotypes 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏾‍♂️

Gender roles and stereotypes have always been a part of society, I personally believe that it is because of the religions that limit some of our social margins. An example of these Gender roles in our actual society is reflected in the jobs or the assigned tasks given to every Gender, that is to say that I am girl, I have to be housewife, get married and have children, while if I were a man, I could have jobs and less limitation.

Nowadays a global change is being generated about Gender themes and stereotypes, the ideas that women have been subjected to for many years, under the concepts that the state founded and internalized in a sexist thought that only seeks to degrade woman has become widespread. That is why they have generated massive manifestations and protests against the patriarchy that has constantly tried to have dominion over our bodies and our minds.

Within this same theoretical framework we have stereotypes that are not alien to gender roles, leaving much to be desired, since all they do is frame and square people according to a supposed role they must follow to adapt to morality, which is socially inculcated by a conservative thought that limits the individual, and not only speaks of the idea of ​​man and woman, but of the self-denial that exists about sexual minorities, such as transgender people.

Perhaps for many people, nowadays it can be an aberration to try to raise gender issues and fight to break the current social norms, especially conservative people and older adults who are used to this type of oppression, but we must fight to break these stigmas that all they do is break us as a society and show that maybe we are not as evolved as we think, because a gender or your sexuality does not define everything you are as a person.

A Photograph and it’s story 👀

I Love This photo. It was taken when I was at the beach with friends from university in Las Cruces. In this photograph we appear together and we look happy, personally I think that these were the best days of my recent years.

We decided to runway for two days to the house of “Josecito”, he is this boy that is using a red sweatshirt. It was the best decision we could have made because it was like going to a spiritual retreat, since we were all very stressed and being in another place outside of Santiago helped us relax.

Taking this picture was a bit chaotic as there was no one else on the beach because it was a weekday so we had to wait for half an hour for someone to pass and ask him to take the picture, but when we achieved the result it was the best, because this photo reflects one of the best moments of my life.

Hobbie and Pastime ✍🏾🌈

To be realistic, i forgot about my hobbies for some time, since I have been very busy with university, my family and my work. Currently i have no time to spare, I actually lack time.

As I said before, I like to paint and draw a lot, before my favorite pastime was painting a picture and drawing in a croquette, but now the only thing I can do to fulfill my passion is to paint in the wall of my bedroom that has a special slate paint and start drawing little by little, so you could say that this is currently my hobby.

I used to like to exercise and run, but my level of anxiety can no longer be controlled with exercise, so it's been hard for me to continue with my routine, but I think I'll never stop drawing again.  Like sometimes I like to watch classic movies I feel that I enjoy them a lot, especially when they are black and white because they reflect in some way the perspectives of life of previous years and I am passionate about that.
